Business Credit Card

Being issued a business credit card after landing my new, high- profile job was one of the greatest moments of my career. This was my dream job, one that had everything that I ever wanted. It was in the industry that I respected, it was a senior position with a lot of responsibility and the salary was more than enough to lead a good life. I thought there was nothing that could top the feeling of having acquired such a perfect position. But I was wrong. As my job involved making financial decisions for the company and frequent traveling, I was soon given a business credit card. What a windfall this was!

The company issued business credit cards to executives to make reimbursements easier. As any accounting pro will tell you, reimbursements and claims processing in large organization is a major headache. Sometimes invoices and bills go missing and cannot be replaced. Other times, the records are not accurate. Often, it is impossible to keep track of petty cash bills. So our company issued business credit cards to all executives to simplify the process. This solved the accounting problems all together, the business credit card was brilliant financial move with many benefits.

For one thing, we didn’t need to carry large amounts of cash on business trips. We could use the business credit card for nearly everything. Plane tickets, hotel expenses, and food could be paid for with the business credit card. Virtually any small purchase could be paid through the business credit card. Even online business expenses could be paid for using the business credit card. Best of all, all we had to do was hand over the monthly statement to the company and they would pay all expenses in full. No money ever came out of our own pockets. There are other great advantages of a being a business credit card holder.

Since the business credit card was issued in my name, I could use of all the frequent flier miles I gathered on business trips. Since this did not translate to any loss of money to my company, it was condoned. I could use the bonus points for personal use as well. I got a fancy fountain pen and some gadgets and gizmos in this way. Finally, any freebies that the credit card company gave me were mine to keep. While these perks of a business credit card might not sound like much, they are the little things that gave me a steady source of clout and gratification.
